To have a theme, or not to have a theme?

So one of the biggest things I think is so important in a wedding is a theme.  I know some people think that having a theme can be cheesy, silly or just really not that important but I have to disagree.  I think themes are an important part of a wedding, whether it is just as simple as a colour theme or something more elaborate like a beach theme, vintage theme, an asian theme or even an ‘green’ (environmentally friendly) theme.  This can bring everything together and it lets you be creative and really can give you new and exciting ideas for your wedding.  The theme can also help create a mood for your wedding, whether is be romantic, casual, formal or just one big party.  It can get your guest in the mood and help tie everything together.

A theme can really bring a wedding to fruitation.

Check out the pics below of the wedding.  The wedding was a pink, black and white wedding but even though there was not any other theme the use of those three colours really brought everything together.  We used the pink, black and white on everything from the invitations and programs, to centerpieces, flowers and favors.  It really helped make the wedding a huge success, not only did it make for a beautiful backdrop but there were some beautiful pictues and the guests really enjoyed it.

So when planning your wedding don’t just dismiss theme as a silly or cheesy wedding idea, but embrace the idea of a wedding theme and run with it!
